The OnGuard 4000 (OG4) uses quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors plated with copper and silver to detect corrosion film growth.

When you install a replacement sensor, it must go to the same slot (upper for copper, lower for silver). The unit then performs an initialization period (~2 hours) before giving valid readings again.
