The black (“K”) monochrome ribbon is commonly used for printing names, ID numbers, barcodes, or for personalizing pre-printed or blank cards when you don’t need full-color printing.

These ribbons are continuous ribbons (i.e. not panel-based like YMCK) and use a ribbon saver feature, which helps save ribbon length by using only what is necessary plus a small margin (about 7 mm “jump”) instead of a full card advance.
