The CCC (Corrosion Classification Coupon) is a passive monitoring device that uses copper and silver strips to detect corrosion build-up in an environment.
Purafil
After exposure (typically 30 days), the coupons are returned to Purafil’s laboratory for analysis, which determines the film thickness on the metals and classifies the environment according to ISA’s standard classes (G1, G2, G3, GX) based on corrosion on copper and silver.
Purafil
The CCC+ is a more advanced version which, in addition to the copper and silver corrosion measurement, also logs temperature and relative humidity in the environment.

Key Specifications & Usage
The coupons are usually installed for 30 days, though in very mild environments they can be left up to 90 days.
Purafil
You must record the installation (“date in”) and removal (“date out”) dates accurately on the coupon.
Purafil
Coupons must be returned to Purafil’s lab within 90 days after receipt; otherwise, warranty is void.
Purafil
The resulting report gives the level of corrosion in Angstroms per 30 days on copper and silver, and classifies the environment as G1, G2, G3, or GX based on thresholds.
